A distressing incident unfolded at Mango Beach in Tangalle as a Polish woman and her boyfriend found themselves caught in the strong waves while swimming in a hazardous area of the sea yesterday evening (24),
Local residents bravely came to their aid, rescuing the couple and swiftly transporting them to Tangalle Hospital for urgent medical attention. Unfortunately, upon their arrival, medical professionals declared the woman, a 22-year-old Polish citizen, deceased.
The authorities have identified the victim and her body has been taken to Tangalle Hospital. Tangalle Police have launched an investigation into the incident to gather further information and determine the cause of this unfortunate event.
