President Ranil Wickremesinghe, following his participation in the G77 summit in Cuba and the UN General Assembly sessions, is set to visit Germany next week.
He will deliver the opening remarks at the Leaders Dialogue session on the inaugural day of the 'Berlin Global Dialogue.' Following this, he will engage in a working visit, including meetings with Chancellor Olaf Scholz and other prominent political and business leaders.
The Berlin Global Dialogue is a prestigious German initiative aimed at addressing current global geopolitical and economic challenges. Notable attendees at the event include Chancellor Scholz, European Council President Charles Michel, and Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo.
Accompanying President Wickremesinghe, his Chief of Staff Sagala Ratnayake, Foreign Secretary Arunii Wijewardene, President’s Senior Advisor Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga, and Advisor to the Finance Minister Deshal de Mel are scheduled to hold discussions with their German counterparts during their two-day stay in Berlin.
Additionally, President Wickremesinghe is expected to chair tomorrow's Cabinet meeting in Colombo and meet with the visiting IMF delegation to discuss the second tranche for Sri Lanka from the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
