At least five individuals, all staff members of a prominent supermarket outlet in Borella, have been arrested in connection with the brutal assault of a female customer.
Police initiated investigations after a video depicting a group of supermarket staff members brutally assaulting a female customer circulated widely on social media.
Initially, reports suggested that the incident had occurred in the Hanwella area. However, it was later confirmed that the incident had taken place at an outlet in Borella.
CCTV footage captured several male and female employees from the outlet brutally assaulting the customer, allegedly in response to suspected theft.
The incident reportedly occurred on September 18, but no complaints had been filed until the video gained significant attention on social media.
Previously, the supermarket management issued a statement through the media, asserting their commitment to taking strong disciplinary action against those responsible.
