President Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed a committee, led by a retired Supreme Court judge, to look into the allegations made by UK's Channel 4 regarding the Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka.

The President's Media Division stated that the government plans to establish a Parliamentary Select Committee to investigate the claims made by a former Attorney General, who asserts that there is a mastermind behind the bombings.

President Wickremesinghe has emphasized that the reports from both investigations, conducted by the Parliamentary Select Committee and the Presidential Commission on the Easter bombings, will be presented to parliament before any final decisions are made.
