In response to the recent government fuel price hike, the All Island United Container Transport Owners' Association (AIUCTOA) has announced an increase in import and export container transport fees, effective as of last night.
The import and export container transport fees have been raised by five percent, with the association notifying all importers, exporters, and clearing houses about the fee adjustment.
The container shipping industry has been directly impacted by the recent diesel price increase of Rs. 35. As a result, transport vehicle owners find it necessary to raise their fees in order to offset the rising cost of diesel.
The AIUCTOA hopes that this increase will help mitigate the financial burden faced by transport vehicle owners due to the surge in diesel prices.
