According to the Meteorology Department, showers are expected to occur intermittently in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
In Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts, there will be several periods of showers.
During the evening or night, Uva province and the Ampara, Batticaloa, and Mulathivu districts may experience showers or thundershowers in various locations.
The general public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize any damages caused by strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

In the sea areas off the coast from Colombo to Matara via Galle, showers may occur in several places. The wind will be south-westerly with a speed of 30-35 kmph.
At times, the wind speed may increase to 50-55 kmph in the sea areas off the coast from Hambantota to Pottuvil, and from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanthurai.
In the sea areas off the coast from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle, the wind speed may increase to 40-45 kmph at times.
There may be rough conditions at times in the sea areas off the coast from Hambantota to Pottuvil and from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar.
Fairly rough conditions may occur at times in the sea areas off the coast from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle.
