The National Water Supply and Drainage Board is gearing up to launch a project aimed at purifying seawater for daily use in the Jaffna district.

According to the board, approximately 300,000 individuals belonging to 60,000 families will stand to benefit from this initiative.

The project is already underway, with initial work having commenced and an expected completion date set for early next year.

Moreover, a cabinet paper has been submitted to facilitate the calling for tenders related to the pipelines required for the project. Once the cabinet paper is approved, the tender process will be initiated.
