Special trains will be in operation to and from Kandy in view of the Esala Perahera Festival. The first ‘Kumbal Perahera will parade the streets on the 21st of August and will continue for five days till the 25th of August.

The ‘Randoli Perahera’ will parade the streets of Kandy from the 26th of August.
The Grand Randoli procession will be held on the 31st of August.

Sri Lanka Railway spokesman said special trains will be in operation for devotees to witness the Kandy Perahera from the 26th of August to the 31st of August.
Special trains will be in operation to Kandy from Colombo, Matale, Nawalapitiya and Badulla.
