The Finance Ministry is launching an investigation into counterfeit alcohol stickers in order to collect Excise revenue for the government, according to Finance State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya. 

Siyambalapitiya revealed that there have been reports of liquor bottles with fake security stickers entering the local market. 

The Excise Department has conducted separate investigations in each district to locate these bottles. Siyambalapitiya stated that he is aware of fake stickers being found in multiple districts and that strict legal action will be taken against the companies responsible. 

The government plans to impose maximum fines and taxes on these companies.
