An Excise Inspector and three Excise officers were apprehended over a shooting incident reported in Bambalapitiya this evening.
A group of gunmen, whose identities remain unknown, attacked a car near a fuel station on Marine Drive in Bambalapitiya.
The assailants arrived in a van via a side road and fired shots at the vehicle. Following the incident, both vehicles quickly left the area. Law enforcement officials have recovered several spent bullet shells from the scene.
Bambalapitiya police are conducting further investigations.
