An accident involving a van and a truck resulted in four deaths and four injuries in the Tambuttegama police area this morning, according to the police,
The incident involved a van traveling from Kurunegala to Anuradhapura colliding with a truck that was in the process of parking on the side of the road, both vehicles moving in the same direction.
The van collided with the rear of the truck, leading to eight individuals being taken to Tambuttegama Hospital with injuries. Unfortunately, two women (aged 36 and 43) and two men (aged 26 and 46) among the injured later passed away. Additionally, a 55-year-old person, two boys aged 11 and 6, and an eight-year-old girl were also injured in the accident.
