The Export Development Board (EDB) of Sri Lanka has announced its strategic plan to increase the country's annual exports to $31.3 billion by 2027.

As part of this plan, the EDB aims to enhance exports to the top 10 existing markets by 10% each year, while also identifying and expanding into 10-15 potential new markets to increase Sri Lanka's market share by 5% annually.

To achieve these targets, the EDB will focus on promoting customized value-added products and services in niche markets, commanding premium prices. Notably, Sri Lanka's export earnings exceeded $13 billion in 2022, marking a 4.9% increase from the previous year, and setting a new record.
