The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued landslide warnings under Levels 1 and 2 for several Divisional Secretariat (DS) divisions across eight districts due to the prevailing heavy rainfall.
Accordingly, Level 2 warnings have been issued for the Nildandahinna and Walapane Divisional Secretariat divisions in Nuwara Eliya District and the Ududumbara Divisional Secretariat division in Kandy District, urging residents to remain vigilant.
Level 1 warnings have been issued for the Meegahakiula Divisional Secretariat division in Badulla District and the Thawalama and Nagoda divisions in Galle District.
In addition, Level 1 warnings cover the following areas:
Nuwara Eliya District: Mathurata, West Kotmale, East Kotmale and Hanguranketha.
Matara District: Pasgoda.
Monaragala District: Wellawaya.
Kandy District: Thumpane and Minipe.
Kegalle District: Aranayake, Yatiyantota, Bulathkohupitiya, Mawanella, Ruwanwella, Kegalle and Warakapola.
