The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) recorded a significant upward trend today, with both major market indices posting notable gains.
Accordingly, the All Share Price Index (ASPI) increased by 589.18 points, or 2.87%, to close at 21,130.30 points.
Meanwhile, the S&P SL20 Index rose by 226.89 points, or 3.89%, to reach 6,061.98 points.
A total of 36,235 transactions were recorded during the day, involving 258.332 million shares.
The total market turnover stood at Rs. 5.433 billion.
Of the 293 stocks traded, 253 recorded price increases, while 29 declined.
The broad-based gains indicate positive investor sentiment towards the stock market, with market activity reflecting continued confidence among investors.
