The Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Crime Division of the Homagama Police, who was arrested in connection with the death of a suspect while in police custody, is scheduled to be produced before court today (October 29).
The suspect was arrested yesterday afternoon (October 28) by officers of the Western Province South Divisional Criminal Investigation Division.
The arrested officer is a 32-year-old resident of Bellapitiya, Horana.
Meanwhile, three police officers, including the OIC of the Crime Division, were suspended from service with effect from October 26 in connection with the incident.
