Traffic movement on the Colombo-bound lane of D.S. Senanayake Mawatha, near D.S. Junction in Borella, has been restricted due to emergency repair work on a leaking water pipeline.
According to the police, excavation work is currently underway on the road section between Model Farm Junction and D.S. Junction, affecting vehicles travelling towards Colombo.
Police have requested motorists entering Colombo via Parliament Road, Castle Street and Model Farm Junction to use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
The recommended alternative routes are as follows:
Motorists can turn at Model Farm Junction and proceed along Old Bullers Road towards the Kanatte Roundabout.
Alternatively, motorists can access Kotta Road via Ayurveda Junction and proceed towards Borella Junction.
Motorists are advised to use these alternative routes until the repair work is completed.
