The cremation ceremony of the late Most Venerable Keppetiyagoda Siriwimala Thera, Anunayaka of the Sri Lanka Ramanna Maha Nikaya, is scheduled to be held with state patronage on Wednesday (21).
The Thera, who served as the Chief Incumbent of the Rajopawanaramaya Temple in Getambe, passed away at the age of 96.
His remains are currently lying at the Rajopawanaramaya Temple in Getambe, where a large number of devotees and members of the public are arriving to pay their final respects.
Ven. Keppetiyagoda Siriwimala Thera made significant contributions to Buddhist revival, cultural activities and national service throughout his life.
The cremation ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Getambe Municipal Grounds on Wednesday (21).
