At least four people have died and several others have been injured in a multiple-vehicle collision in the Kurugoda area of Akurana, along the Kandy–Matale main road. According to Sri Lanka Police, the accident occurred near Kurugoda Junction when a cement mixer truck collided with several vehicles and pedestrians travelling along the road.
The collision also caused severe traffic congestion in the surrounding area, police said. Further details regarding the incident are awaited.
