Sri Lanka’s Arugam Bay beach has been named Asia’s most attractive and best beach, according to the 2026 Readers’ Choice survey published by Condé Nast Traveller.
Arugam Bay topped the list, largely due to its reputation as one of the world’s most popular surfing destinations, making it a major attraction for both local and international tourists.
According to the survey, three other Sri Lankan beaches have also secured places among Asia’s top 20 beaches.
Bentota Beach ranked ninth on the list, while Tangalle Beach secured 14th place. Negombo Beach was ranked 19th.
The rankings highlight Sri Lanka’s appeal as a beach tourism destination in Asia, with its coastal landscapes and surfing opportunities continuing to attract travellers from around the world.
