A large consignment of heroin weighing over 100 kilograms has been seized at Kapparathota Beach in Weligama.
The consignment was discovered by officers of the Police Special Task Force (STF). The heroin was packed into 120 packets and concealed inside six sacks.
No suspects have been arrested in connection with the seizure so far.
Further investigations are expected to determine the origin of the consignment and identify those responsible.
