The Sri Lankan Consulate General in Jeddah has issued a special advisory for Sri Lankan nationals travelling to Saudi Arabia amid the prevailing situation in the region.

In a statement, the Consulate warned that the current regional situation could disrupt flights arriving in and departing from Saudi Arabia.

The advisory specifically urges pilgrims planning to undertake Umrah to remain alert to possible travel disruptions when making their arrangements.

Pilgrims have been advised to maintain close contact with their Umrah group coordinators or travel agents and carefully plan their journeys.

The Consulate also stressed the importance of having suitable alternative travel arrangements in place to deal with emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.
