President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has said the National People’s Power (NPP) government aims to strengthen Sri Lanka through five key pillars.
He also stressed that no place or individual is beyond the reach of the law in present-day Sri Lanka, describing the NPP as the least corrupt political movement in the country’s political history.
The President made these remarks while addressing a public rally in Nikaweratiya on Sunday (11), as part of the “Two Years for Our Government, Good Fortune for the Country” rally series.
He further stated that steps would be taken, with international assistance, to bring back individuals who had fled overseas after engaging in fraud and corruption and evading investigations.
The Kurunegala District rally was held at the Nikaweratiya public market grounds this afternoon under the President’s patronage.
Members of the Maha Sangha and other religious leaders attended the event, along with government ministers, Members of Parliament, NPP activists and a large gathering of supporters.
President Dissanayake received a warm welcome from the crowd upon his arrival.
