The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory on rough sea conditions for the sea areas extending from Kankesanthurai to Galle, via Mannar, Puttalam and Colombo.
The advisory, issued at 5.30 p.m. today (October 4), will remain valid until 1.00 p.m. tomorrow (October 5).
According to the advisory, thundershowers are likely to occur in these sea areas during the afternoon or night.
Temporary strong winds of 60–70 kmph may occur during thundershowers, causing the sea to become temporarily very rough.
The Department of Meteorology has advised fishermen and naval communities engaged in activities in these sea areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
