The National Police Commission has cancelled the proposed transfers of several senior police officers, including Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (SDIG) Ranmal Kodituwakku and Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ashoka Dharmasena, who is attached to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB), with immediate effect.
The transfer proposals had been forwarded to the Commission by Inspector General of Police (IGP) for approval.
However, when the Commission met today (October 1) to consider the proposed transfers, it reportedly reached a consensus to reject the recommendations.
Accordingly, the proposed transfers of SDIG Ranmal Kodituwakku, DIG Ashoka Dharmasena, the Director of the Police Narcotics Bureau, two Superintendents of Police and a Woman Chief Inspector have been cancelled.
