A case filed under the Public Property Act against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe and former Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake is scheduled to be taken up before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today (30).
The case was filed over allegations of misappropriation of state funds.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had previously informed the court that investigations into the incident had been completed and the relevant extracts had been forwarded to the Attorney General.
Accordingly, Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena ordered that the case be taken up today to inform the court of the Attorney General’s position.
