A fleet of 111 new Metro buses is set to be deployed on five routes in the Western Province from today (29), with the aim of reducing traffic congestion in Colombo and providing a more comfortable and safer public transport service.
The new bus service will be launched today under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The buses will operate along five Colombo-centred routes according to designated schedules, enabling passengers to reach their destinations more conveniently.
The initiative is aimed at improving public transport efficiency while easing traffic congestion in Colombo and surrounding areas.
