Batting first after winning the toss, England posted a formidable 355 for seven in their 50 overs.
Tom Banton starred with a brilliant 126 off 105 balls, including 16 fours and five sixes. Harry Brook scored 77, while Jordan Cox contributed 76.
For Sri Lanka, Asitha Fernando claimed three wickets for 64 runs, while Sachintha Colombage took two for 71.
Chasing 356 for victory, Sri Lanka's top order struggled, and the innings ended at 132 in 29.1 overs.
Captain Kusal Mendis top-scored with 35 off 26 balls, while Janith Liyanage made 19, Pavan Rathnayake scored 18 and Eshan Malinga contributed 14.
The result saw England seal the three-match ODI series 2-1, while Sri Lanka also ended the preceding T20 series with a defeat.
