The heat index, or the temperature felt on the human body, is expected to rise to the “Caution” level in several areas today.
The affected areas include the North Central and Eastern provinces, as well as Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya, Monaragala and Hambantota.
People in these areas are advised to remain mindful of the heat and take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related health effects.
