Seven people were injured in an explosion at the Polonnaruwa Kidney Hospital, police said.

The incident occurred when a gas cylinder exploded inside the hospital’s kitchen.

The injured, who are employees of the Kidney Hospital, have been admitted to the Polonnaruwa Hospital for treatment.

The explosion also caused significant damage to the hospital building, according to reports.
