A lawyer representing Shiranthi Rajapaksa, wife of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, has informed the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) that she is unable to appear before investigators today (24) in response to a summons. According to the letter submitted to the FCID, Shiranthi Rajapaksa is currently in Singapore for eye surgery and is therefore unable to attend the inquiry.
The investigation concerns financial transactions linked to the Siriliya Saviya Foundation, which operated under her patronage.
