Six people have been injured in a collision involving a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus and a private bus on the Buttala–Monaragala main road this morning (24).
The accident occurred in the Mahagodaya area when an SLTB bus travelling from Wellawaya to Monaragala stopped to allow passengers to get off.
A private bus travelling from Matara to Ampara subsequently collided with the rear of the SLTB bus.
The injured passengers have been admitted to the Monaragala District General Hospital for treatment.
Buttala Police have launched an investigation into the accident.
