The parliamentary debate on the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution Bill is scheduled to be held tomorrow (24) and Friday (25).
A vote on the Bill will be held following the debate. In accordance with the Supreme Court determination, the Bill must be passed with a two-thirds majority in Parliament.
Meanwhile, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is scheduled to hold a protest tomorrow at the Polduwa Junction against the proposed 22nd Amendment.
Several opposition parties have already announced that they will join the protest.
The opposition is expected to make a final decision on its participation following a meeting scheduled to be held today under the leadership of former Minister Professor G.L. Peiris.
