The 13th edition of the Sri Lanka–India naval exercise SLINEX-26 concluded successfully in Visakhapatnam on Monday, strengthening maritime cooperation and operational coordination between the two navies.
The bilateral exercise was conducted under the operational supervision of the Indian Navy’s Eastern Naval Command, with the aim of enhancing mutual understanding and interoperability between the Sri Lanka Navy and Indian Navy.
The Sri Lanka Navy participated with the Offshore Patrol Vessel SLNS Sindurala, while the Indian Navy was represented by the Anti-submarine Warfare Corvette INS Kavaratti and Fleet Tanker INS Jyoti.
The exercise was conducted in two phases — harbour and sea. During the harbour phase, naval personnel took part in professional exchanges, cross-deck ship visits, subject matter expert discussions and sporting activities.
The sea phase, held off India’s eastern coast, featured a series of operational drills, including live surface firing, tactical manoeuvring, anti-piracy response operations and cross-deck helicopter exercises.
