The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued landslide early warnings for six districts due to heavy rainfall prevailing across the country.
The warnings were issued at 7:00 a.m. today (20) and will remain in effect for 24 hours until 7:00 a.m. tomorrow (21).
Level 1 “Remain Vigilant” (Yellow) warnings have been issued for the Nagoda Divisional Secretariat Division in Galle, Palindanuwara in Kalutara, Pasbage Korale in Kandy, and Deraniyagala in Kegalle.
In Ratnapura District, the warning applies to the Pelmadulla, Ratnapura, Kuruwita and Nivithigala Divisional Secretariat Divisions.
Meanwhile, a Level 2 “Alert” (Amber) landslide warning has been issued for the Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat Division in Nuwara Eliya District.
