The office of the 11th National Scout Jamboree was officially opened today (19) at the National Scout Headquarters in Colombo.
The 11th National Scout Jamboree, organised by the Sri Lanka Scout Association to mark 115 years of Scouting in Sri Lanka, is scheduled to be held from January 17 to 23, 2027, at the Diyagama Sports Complex in Colombo.
The event will be organised under the leadership of Chief Scout Commissioner Attorney-at-Law Manoj Nanayakkara, with around 10,000 local Scouts and 2,000 Scouts from overseas expected to participate.
The Jamboree office was officially opened under the patronage of Chief Scout Commissioner Manoj Nanayakkara and Paul Parkinson, a Safe From Harm adviser to the World Scout Organization and former Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Scout Committee.
The office will remain open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., and will serve as the central hub for all administrative activities related to the 11th National Jamboree.
The opening ceremony was attended by members of the Scout Executive Committee, senior Scout commissioners, Jamboree organisers and other officials, including Scout Executive Committee Chairman Engineer Kamalnath Jinadasa, Deputy Chief Commissioner Attorney-at-Law Kapila Kalyana Perera, National Training Commissioner Colonel (Retd.) Padmalal Perera, National Programme Commissioner Geeth Ramesh, International Commissioner and Jamboree Co-Organiser Dr. Asanka Eriya, Jamboree Co-Organiser and Assistant Chief Commissioner Engineer Amil Abeysundara, and Jamboree Secretary and Assistant Chief Commissioner Kapila Priyantha.
