Court of Appeal President Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya has nominated a three-judge bench to hear contempt of court proceedings against six individuals, including former Ministers Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila and MP Dilith Jayaweera.
The individuals are accused of making false and contemptuous statements regarding ongoing judicial proceedings related to the Easter Sunday attacks.
The case is scheduled to be taken up for hearing on September 18 before the Court of Appeal bench comprising Justice (President) Rohantha Abeysuriya, Justice Chamath Morais, and Justice Adithya Patabendige.
