Sri Lanka received USD 748.6 million in workers’ remittances in August 2026, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

The figure represents an increase compared to August 2025, when the country received USD 680.8 million in remittances from Sri Lankan migrant workers.

Meanwhile, total workers’ remittances received during the first eight months of 2026 amounted to USD 6.131 billion, according to the CBSL.
