From 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., parliamentary business listed under Standing Orders 22(1) to 22(6) will be taken up. The period from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. has been allocated for questions requiring oral answers, while questions under Standing Order 27(2) will be taken up from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
From 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the House will consider several Private Members’ Motions.
The motions include proposals on bringing the petroleum, fuel and water industries under the regulation of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka; providing incentives to families to increase the birth rate; protecting the Diyagama forest; ending the deduction of an additional six percent from the salaries of Pirivena teachers for their pension scheme; promoting food crop cultivation in the hill country; developing the kithul industry; and establishing a Faculty of Medicine at the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka.
The adjournment debate questions are scheduled to be taken up from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
