During an official visit to Sri Lanka, Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar, Vice Chief of the Naval Staff of the Indian Navy called on Vice Admiral Damian Fernando, Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy at Navy Headquarters today, 9 September 2026.
Vice Admiral Kochhar was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour in conformity with rich naval traditions, upon his arrival at the Navy Headquarters. He was subsequently introduced to the Sri Lanka Navy Board of Management, including the Chief of Staff, by Vice Admiral Fernando. SriLanka Navy reported.
During the official meeting, matters of bilateral importance, including maritime security cooperation between the Indian and Sri Lanka navies. The official engagement drew to a close with an exchange of mementoes between the two sides.
