Twenty-two people have been hospitalised following an accident involving a private bus travelling from Medirigiriya to Colombo.
The bus veered off the Polonnaruwa–Habarana main road and overturned into a canal in the Devala Wanguwa area near the seventh mile post in Minneriya.
The injured passengers were admitted to hospital for treatment.
