Sri Lanka Cricket has named 16-member ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming white-ball tour of England, with Kusal Mendis appointed captain in both formats.

Charith Asalanka has been named vice-captain of both squads as Sri Lanka continue preparations for the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup.

A notable inclusion is former captain Dasun Shanaka, who has earned a recall to the ODI squad while retaining his place in the T20I side. His return to the 50-over team comes as Sri Lanka look to build depth and stability ahead of the next World Cup cycle.

The T20I squad includes uncapped or relatively new options Lahiru Udara and Tharindu Rathnayake, while Pavan Rathnayake, Sachindu Colombage, Asitha Fernando and Dilshan Madushanka have been selected specifically for the ODI leg.

Pathum Nissanka, Kamil Mishara, Kamindu Mendis, Janith Liyanage, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera and Eshan Malinga have been named in both squads.

Sri Lanka are scheduled to leave for England on September 5 and will play three T20Is followed by three ODIs.

The T20I series begins in Southampton on September 15, with the second match scheduled for Cardiff and the third in Manchester. The ODI series will then be played in Durham, Leeds and London between September 22 and 27.
