The Sri Lanka–Australia Business Summit, aimed at further strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries, has received special attention in the Australian Parliament.
Australian Member of Parliament Cassandra Fernando addressed Parliament on the significance of the summit, highlighting the valuable contribution made by Sri Lankan entrepreneurs to Australia and the strong ties continuing to develop between the two nations.
The discussion focused on several potential outcomes of the business summit, including increasing bilateral trade, creating greater opportunities for investment, and opening new avenues for businesses and entrepreneurs in both countries.
She also praised the dedication and contribution of Sri Lankan entrepreneurs, noting that their achievements and role in strengthening Australia–Sri Lanka relations were being recognised at an international level.
In a social media post, Fernando said she was honoured to speak in Parliament about the “incredible contribution” of Sri Lankan entrepreneurs and the strong connections they continue to build between Australia and Sri Lanka.
She further expressed pride in supporting stronger trade, investment and opportunities between the two countries, while saying she looked forward to seeing the relationship continue to grow.
The growing cooperation between Sri Lanka and Australia is expected to contribute to stronger economic ties and create further opportunities for businesses and investors in both countries.
