The Ministry of Defence said that the renewal of firearm licences for 2027 will begin tomorrow (September 1).
According to the Ministry, all individuals and institutions holding firearm licences must renew their licences before December 31, 2026.
The Ministry warned that possessing a firearm without a valid licence is a punishable offence under Section 22 of the Firearms Ordinance. Legal action may be taken against firearm owners who fail to renew their licences by the stipulated deadline.
Meanwhile, private security agencies that fail to renew their registration between September 1 and December 31, 2026, will be subject to late fees or legal action.
The Ministry has urged all relevant individuals and institutions to complete the required renewals within the specified period to avoid inconvenience and possible legal consequences.
