Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya departed from Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake today (31) for Bhutan to participate in the Global Conscious Food Systems Summit (GCFSS).

The summit is scheduled to take place in Bhutan tomorrow (September 1). Prime Minister Amarasuriya is expected to attend the opening plenary session, where she will deliver the keynote address under the theme “Rising to the Moment: Igniting Consciousness to Address the Polycrisis.”

During her visit, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to engage in discussions with international leaders and representatives.

The discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation in areas including sustainable food systems, food security, and community participation, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
