Sri Lankan authorities have taken steps to bring a wanted underworld figure known as “Bus Lalith” back to the country from Dubai.
A police team from the Central Crime Investigation Bureau has reportedly travelled to Dubai to take custody of the suspect, who is alleged to have been involved in a number of criminal activities in areas including Avissawella and Homagama. The suspect is expected to be brought back to Sri Lanka around August 22 or 24, according to the report.

Investigators reportedly believe the gunmen may have operated from the Lihiniya Mawatha area in Peliyagoda. The incident has prompted further investigations into possible links between several underworld-related shootings.
In another development, a suspected hitman allegedly connected to the shooting was found dead after reportedly being struck by a train in the Hettimulla area of Aluthgama. The deceased was identified as Sajith Devapriya, born in 1990.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. While authorities reportedly suspect that he may have died by suicide, citing his alleged heavy involvement with narcotics,
