Several spells of showers will occur in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Ampara, Monaragala and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.
Mainly dry weather will prevail over the other areas of the island.
Fairly strong winds of about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over Western slopes of the Central hills, North-central and North-western provinces and in Mannar, Trincomalee, Hambantota and Matale Districts.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Condition of Rain:
Showers may occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Negombo to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle.
Winds:
Winds will be westerly to south-westerly. Wind speed will be (30-40) kmph.
Wind speed can increase up to (50-60) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Chilaw via Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota. Wind speed can increase up to (45-50) kmph at times in the other sea areas around the island.
State of Sea:
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Kankasanthurai to Chilaw via Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be rough at times. The other sea areas around the island may be fairly rough at times.
The wave height may increase about (2.0 – 2.5) meters in the sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Pottuvil via Galle and Matara.
Naval and fishing communities engaged in activities in the aforementioned sea areas, are advised to remain vigilant in this regard.
