India were bowled out for 462 runs in their first innings of the opening Test against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.

After winning the toss, India elected to bat first and posted a formidable total of 462 runs in 116.4 overs.

Devdutt Padikkal was the standout performer for India, producing an excellent innings of 167 runs. KL Rahul also made a valuable contribution with 82 runs, while Dhruv Jurel scored 51.

For Sri Lanka, Prabath Jayasuriya led the bowling attack with four wickets. Keshara Nuwantha claimed three wickets for 175 runs, while Asitha Fernando took two wickets.

India's strong first-innings total has put them in a commanding position as Sri Lanka prepare to begin their reply.
