The Department of Meteorology has warned of hot weather conditions in seven districts today (14), urging residents to remain cautious about elevated heat levels.
According to the department, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Trincomalee, Polonnaruwa, Batticaloa, Ampara, and Monaragala districts may experience conditions where the heat felt by the human body reaches levels that require attention, particularly during the daytime.
The department has advised the public in these areas to take necessary precautions to minimize the effects of the heat.
Meanwhile, the highest temperature recorded in Sri Lanka yesterday (13) was reported from the Monaragala District, where temperatures reached 37.2°C.
