Sri Lanka and Oman have discussed further strengthening their longstanding friendship and expanding investment opportunities in Sri Lanka for Omani businesses.
The discussions were held today (13) at the Ministry of Finance between Ambassador of Oman to Sri Lanka Ahmed Ali Said Al Rashidi, Oman’s Advisor for Foreign Trade and International Cooperation Pankej Khimji, and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando.
The Omani Ambassador commended the economic programme being implemented by the current government and expressed interest in raising awareness among the Omani business community about investment opportunities available in Sri Lanka and encouraging them to invest in the country.
Pankej Khimji noted that Omani investors have shown increased interest in investment opportunities related to Sri Lanka’s agricultural sector.
Responding to the remarks, Deputy Minister Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando said the government’s commitment to fiscal discipline and transparency has helped strengthen international investors’ confidence and interest in investing in Sri Lanka.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on further expanding economic and investment relations between the two countries.
