MP M.L.A.M. Hizbullah left the premises of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption several hours after appearing before investigators today in connection with an ongoing inquiry into his assets and liabilities.

Hizbullah arrived at the commission earlier in the day following a formal notice requiring him to provide a statement and information relating to the inquiry.
Speaking briefly to journalists after leaving the commission, Hizbullah said the questioning concerned financial transactions dating back to 2013 and 2014.
He said investigators had questioned him about deposits he made during that period to his personal parliamentary and office staff, adding that he had explained the reasons for those transactions to the investigators.
However, when journalists sought further comments on the conduct of the current government, Hizbullah declined to comment.
